I want to purchase a commercial SUV, but I will have to convert the vehicle from an N1 to an M1 category as it will be insured and taxed privately. Am I liable for any VAT or VRT?

I've bought an 04 Ford Transit Connect T200 for private use only. Can I get private insurance and tax? If so how much will it cost?

I have a 2015 Nissan Navara 2.5 crew cab I brought over from England. I’ll probably tax it for private use. Any idea how much that will cost? The tax guide lines are a little confusing as there is many exceptions, so if you can help me figure this out I’d appreciate it.
Thanks
Tony

Can I buy a Citroen Berlingo and use it for social purposes only? I'm retired and just want it to carry my terriers to the park rather than wreck the car with hairs!

Hi,
I am a VAT-registered sole trader courier and am thinking of hiring a van as opposed to buying one. The rental payments through Northgate will be €715.00 per month plus VAT over three years at which time I give the van back, walk away or take another van. In addition to claiming back the VAT on the monthly hire cost, can I set the remaining hire cost against my profits as a deductible expense before working out my personal tax (income tax, USC, PRSI, etc) liabilities? I assume I cannot charge depreciation to the business or avail of any capital allowances as I do not own the van?

I am considering importing a 2017/18/19 Volkswagen Transporter crewcab van for personal use. How do I know which category it would fall into for VRT? Is a crewcab van still classed as a van and in Category C or due to five seats is it classed Category A?

I have a Peugeot Partner Van that was imported from UK. It is VRT'd and due for a commercial test. Do I need a weigh docket before it is tested, or before it is taxed at the commercial weight? Its mass in service is 1,406kg according to the V5.

Hi,
Has there been any change to the taxing of commercial as private? I bought a 2015 Berlingo van so will I have to pay under the old system?
Thanks in advance
Chris

Hi.
Can you tell me what it will cost me to tax a 2010 Ford Transit 2.2-litre diesel? I want to tax it privately as I am not self employed and can’t avail of the commercial tax of €333. I’m an electrician if that makes any difference but like I say I want to tax it privately as I don’t have a VAT number. Also will I be able to insure it privately?
