Skoda Octavia or Elroq?
Hi,
I'm considering the Skoda Octavia 1.5 Sportline MHEV and the Skoda Elroq 85 Sportline. I drive 25km daily to work and back in city traffic and the odd occasional Wexford/Waterford jaunt. I have my own driveway so fitting a charger wouldn't be an issue.
On paper, which of these would suit me better?

Will I buy a used Cupra Born EV in the North?
I've a 2011 Audi A4 diesel and am thinking of changing to an EV. Do mostly town driving but don't want something too small. I'd like to keep my budget to around €20-25k max.
Was looking at a Cupra Born 150kW V1 58kWh in Northern Ireland for £17,400 with 7,449 miles on the clock. Any advice on importing it, battery, warranty etc?
Would I be better buying a new car within price range in the south?

What can I do about my faulty KGM EV?
I have a KGM Korando e-Motion. I had a charge issue at its very first charge and was told the charge point had a similar issue with the Torres, but it was not the charger issue.
Next time the 'granny cable' was blamed. Next time it failed at a public charger and the cable was blamed and another time at a public charger, the grid was blamed. KGM refused to change the car.
It regularly stops when charging at eight per cent and then works the second time. So far I've been through two granny cables, fitting a home charger, replacing the 12-volt battery when I was locked out.
I even submitted a video with another car charging and ESB app showing cut after 29 seconds and KGM had the car over 50 days/nights in a year and drove over 6,000km trying to find fault they said the car is perfect and it's down to misuse.
They said diagnostic and live diagnostics show no fault but after 18 months of crap and first five months they literally drove more than me I want to end the contract as it's back there again the last two weeks.
What can I do?

Which cheap EV to get on the scrappage scheme?
Hello,
I've an 18-year-old Suzuki and am very interested in the new EV scrappage scheme. I'm looking at the Renault 5, the BYD Dolphin Surf or the Volkswagen Polo. Which would you recommend?

Should I worry about the ICCU in the Hyundai Ioniq 6?
I'm very tempted by the Ioniq 6 following its update for 2026. However, I am aware of the ICCU issue affecting Hyundai, Kia and Genesis EV models worldwide. What is your understanding of the issue?

How many motors has the Chery Tiggo 9?
Regarding the Chery Tiggo 9, some sources say that it would have two electric motors on the front axle and one on the rear axle, plus the internal combustion engine. Others only mention two electric motors plus one internal combustion engine. What is the truth?
