Will I buy a used Cupra Born EV in the North?
I've a 2011 Audi A4 diesel and am thinking of changing to an EV. Do mostly town driving but don't want something too small. I'd like to keep my budget to around €20-25k max.
Was looking at a Cupra Born 150kW V1 58kWh in Northern Ireland for £17,400 with 7,449 miles on the clock. Any advice on importing it, battery, warranty etc?
Would I be better buying a new car within price range in the south?

Hi Edel,
The Cupra Born is a really good car. It's smaller than your Audi on the outside but doesn't feel it inside. Top tip: go test drive a few for sale in the south no matter where you're considering buying it, to make sure you like it.
Aside from Cupra's European-wide warranty of the battery, it might be tricky to rely on any warranty from a Northern dealer as you'd have to bring the car back to them. We'd certainly recommend searching for an equivalent car in the south.
Either way, make sure you get the battery condition checked and get a 'State of Health' certificate. There's a simple test that any dealer should be able to arrange for you at a small cost. It gives huge peace of mind when it comes to buying an EV and takes the guesswork out of it.
