Should I worry about the ICCU in the Hyundai Ioniq 6?

I'm very tempted by the Ioniq 6 following its update for 2026. However, I am aware of the ICCU issue affecting Hyundai, Kia and Genesis EV models worldwide. What is your understanding of the issue?

How many motors has the Chery Tiggo 9?

Regarding the Chery Tiggo 9, some sources say that it would have two electric motors on the front axle and one on the rear axle, plus the internal combustion engine. Others only mention two electric motors plus one internal combustion engine. What is the truth?

Would I pay just VRT importing this Subaru Outback?

If I buy a 2021 Northern Ireland registered Subaru Outback (2.5i SE Premium Lineartronic 4WD with 16,000 miles on the clock) will it be covered by the Windsor Framework, i.e. I pay only VRT, no VAT, no customs duty? The car has had only one owner.

Can I import a car to Spain via Ireland?

Looking to take a UK-plated Defender 110 HS Dynamic to Spain for matriculation. I am a resident in Spain with British citizenship. I have been told this is not possible, but I have also been told I could get the vehicle registered in Ireland then over to Spain. What do you think?

My first car needs to suit lots of motorway mileage...

Hi,

I am looking to buy my first car and not sure where to start. I would need something suitable for motorway driving as I will be driving from Dublin to Galway several times a week. Could you give me some advice on what cars to look for?

Would also like something cheaper to insure.

Is GWM coming to Ireland?

Hi guys,

I've recently seen a UK review of a lovely mid-sized hybrid SUV called a GWM Haval Jolion Pro Ultra, which I believe is the top spec of the model, for under £22k in a garage in Northern Ireland. Sadly only available in the UK as far as I can discern.

Do you know if GWM (Great Wall Motors) has any plans to let us have this model in the jurisdiction of Ireland not subject to His Majesty?
