How does the new Toyota RAV4 PHEV compare to the old?
What size of wheels are on the Platinum model of the new Toyota RAV4? And what is its horsepower? I have a 242 plug-in Sport four-wheel drive. Should the 262 Platinum be the same power wise?

Hi Pat,
You can read our full and detailed review of the 2026 Toyota RAV4 here, including the plug-in-hybrid version.
The two-wheel-drive Platinum version makes up to 272hp, but the older model had more power at 306hp. What's more, the older car did 0-100km/h in 6.0 seconds vs.7.5 seconds for the new one, so actually, it's likely that the new car feels slower than your 242 one.
Best advice we can give you is to go and test drive the new car for yourself.
If you're looking for a more powerful alternative, we'd highly recommend the MG HS, which also has a longer electric range to a charge.
