Do I need to replace the belt in my BMW 420d?

Hello,

Does the timing belt (or is it a chain?) need to be replaced on my 161 BMW 420d Gran Coupe? It has 245,000km on the clock.

Hi Sean,

That engine has indeed a timing chain, which has no set replacement schedule. Just make sure you replace the oil and filter regularly and use very good quality oil at all times.
