Cheapest EV available for the ICE2EV scrappage schem?

Please could you tell me the cheapest car for sale that is applicable for the upcoming SEAI ICE2EV scrappage scheme?

Hi Gillian,

The Citroen Ami starts from just €9,990, but that's not technically a car; it's a quadicycle and it has a severely limited top speed and range.

Hyundai's excellent Inster starts at €19,595 and the incoming VW ID. Polo is a few hundred Euro more for the basic entry-level model. Below those is the Leapmotor T03, at €18,950.

Beating them all on price, however, is the BYD Dolphin Surf, starting at €17,985.

The biggest challenge might be finding affordable models in stock in time to make use of the ICE2EV grant, as it's going to be done on a first-come, first-served basis and funds are limited for the scheme.
