Does a timing chain need replacing?

Regarding timing chain replacement comment… In a response regarding this on your site I read this answer: “since it is a chain rather than a belt, no worries.”

Does this mean a timing chain does not require replacing?

Hi Szoke,

That's correct. In the vast majority of cases (though there are a few exceptions), there is no set replacement schedule for timing chains. Sometimes they must be replaced due to wear or damage, but it's not a scheduled thing to worry about.
