When to order a new car for 2018?

Going to order a new car for delivery in 2018. When will garages start taking order for the New Year? I have no trade in either, so should I push for a discount because of this?

Hi David,

Well, theoretically, you can order a car for delivery at almost any time of your choosing, but just be aware that if you go in somewhere now and start asking about a 2018 car, the dealership staff will strain LITERALLY EVERY MUSCLE AND FIBRE OF THEIR BEING to put you into a car now, today, right away. That said, that’s a pretty good way to bag a bargain, and if that’s what’s most important to you (more important, say, than the numbers on the plate) then that, rather than not having a trade-in, is your biggest advantage. Leave it to the end of August, when everyone else is worrying about back-to-school and no-one’s shifting any stock, and bag yourself a bargain.
