Will my clutch wear going down hill?

Does clutch wear when it is fully engaged, but the gas isn't pressed going down hill? It's like gear is engaged while going down the hill I fully press my clutch then slightly press the brakes: will my clutch still wear?

What do you think of six-speed gearboxes?

What is your view on the practicality of six-speed manual cars versus five-speed? On normal national roads - non motorways - six-speed seems to equate to a never ending need to change gear at every bump and bend. Or did I have a bad experience with a particular car?

How do the various VAG 4WD systems work?

Hi,

I am wondering what the difference is between the quattro four-wheel drive systems Audi use and the 4Motion system Volkswagen uses on its cars and SUVs. Also is there any difference between the four-wheel drive system used by Skoda and the two above? As they are manufactured by the Volkswagen Group I am interested to see if there are any differences other than marketing terminology.

Should I be worried about a sudden jerk in my Polo?

I bought a new Volkswagen Polo GT 1.2 TSI DSG and it has just hit 800km. Recently when acclerating, as soon as the car hit fourth I eased up from the gas and the car responded with a sudden jerk. Is this normal? I tried to do it again, but it didn't happen so I am a bit worried. Is this the normal behaviour of a new car?

Thank you
