Where and when does the 2026 Cannonball Run start?
The 2026 Cannonball Run will start in Johnstown Estate, in Enfield, Co. Meath, on the 11th of September. Actually, the event technically starts the previous evening, when visitors will have the chance to see the cars lined up from 7pm, ready for a morning start.
The convoy gets rolling at 11am on the 11th, heading initially for the village of Enniskerry in Wicklow, before heading for the K Club, in Straffan, Co. Kildare, for lunch. At 3.15pm, there's a scheduled fuel stop at the Circle K (Circle K is supporting the whole event, incidentally…) on the M9 at Kilcullen, before heading for Tullamore, Co. Offaly for a massive free outdoor family event, and then on to an overnight halt in Athlone.
That's just one day?
That's just one day. On the 12th, the Cannonball will leave Athlone for a regroup at the Circle K on the M6, at 10.30am, and then head for The Falls Hotel in Enistymon for lunch, before moving on for a regroup stop at Bunratty at 3.30pm. Then the cars will roll into Limerick at around 5pm for another free outdoor spectacle.
What about day three of the 2026 Cannonball Run?
On Sunday the 13th, the Cannonball will leave the greyhound track in Limerick at 11am, heading for the Circle K in Fermoy for a lunchtime fuel stop, and then onto the Radisson Blu hotel in Cork for a 1.30 lunch. The grand finale takes place in Kilkenny City, where the first supercars are expected to arrive from approximately 5.30pm. The finish line celebrations, as with Tullamore and Limerick, will once again feature live entertainment, music, giant screens, family attractions, and colourful costumes.
What can we expect to see at Cannonball Run 2026?
In terms of the cars, it's a proper spotter's guide day out, with Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, Porsche, Aston Martin, Bentley, and Maserati all featuring in the convoy. As for the entertainment, at each overnight halt there will be DJs, live entertainment, giant screens, Brazilian dancers, street performers, children's entertainment, and more.
And it's all for charity?
Yup. The Cannonball organisers boast that since the event was first run, it has raised €2,281,871 for Irish children's charities, and this year the charity of choice is Ronald McDonald House, which supports families of very sick children by providing accommodation when they need to be away from home for treatment.
