Final part of Lambo’s four-piece Huracan Evo puzzle is 610hp open-top with rear-wheel drive.

After the Lamborghini Huracan became the Huracan Evo early last year, it was soon followed by an open-top model called the Huracan Evo Spyder. And then the Italian supercar manufacturer then stripped out the front driveshafts for the Huracan Evo RWD. So can you work out what's missing from this sequence? That's right: what you've got here is the Huracan Evo RWD Spyder.

610hp, folding roof and RWD

Like its two-wheel-drive tin-topped sibling, the Evo RWD Spyder is down on power and torque by 30hp and 40Nm to the 4WD models of the Huracan line-up, but with 610hp and 560Nm to play with from its mid-mounted, 5.2-litre V10, performance is still pretty blistering. The Lambo will achieve 0-100km/h in just 3.5 seconds and runs on to a top speed of 324km/h; if you want those numbers in context, then the 4WD Huracan Evo Spyder records 3.1 seconds and 325km/h for the same stats, while the Coupe version of the 2WD Huracan Evo runs 0-100km/h in 3.3 seconds and tops out at 325km/h. So there's very little penalty to having wind-in-your-hair driving and only two driven wheels when it comes to the Evo.

Beyond this, the Huracan Evo RWD Spyder has a specially calibrated Performance Traction Control System (P-TCS), the Anima drive-modes steering-wheel button, the usual 8.4-inch human-machine interface for the infotainment, discreetly different exterior styling to the 4WD Huracan Evo Spyder (such as the front splitter with vertical fins in the front air intakes and a rear bumper in high-gloss black with a unique-to-this-car diffuser), and also a soft-top roof which folds up and down in 17 seconds (even on the move at up to 50km/h). It weighs in at 1,509kg with that mass distributed 40:60 front-to-rear, while 19-inch Kari alloy wheels with Pirelli P Zero tyres over cross-drilled steel brakes are the standard hub set-up; upgrades include a set of 20s and carbon-ceramic anchor.

European suggested prices start from €175,838, although this excludes retail price taxes that would apply in Ireland, and the Huracan Evo RWD Spyder's 335g/km CO2 (with 13.9 litres/100km, or 20.3mpg, economy) won't help it for VRT - so expect it to cost considerably more if you're interested in buying one here in Ireland.
