When is my Audi A4's timing belt due?

I own a 142 Audi A4 2.0-litre diesel. I was informed when I bought the car that the timing belt was not due until 210,000km. Is this correct? I am currently only at 90,000 miles, but am just wary in case it is in fact due.

Hi Aisling,

Our information would agree with what you were told, that the recommended interval is indeed 210,000km, regardless of time. Remember: treat that as a maximum, not a minimum...

Hi Aisling,

We get our information from Autodata, a third-party company that holds technical information on all cars, and it states that the schedule is regardless of time for that car.

Obviously, Audi knows its cars better than anyone and if it recommends changing it, then you probably should. Saying that, it might be worth checking with a few different dealers to make sure the story is consistent...

Thanks for this - the only thing is when I ring an actual Audi dealer they state its due at 120,000km or five years. Is this a generic answer they just feed everyone? Just very frustrating: I seem to be getting different answers from everyone.

Thanks again
