Will my creaking Colt pass its NCT?

Hi, can you please help?

My 2004 Mitsubishi Colt needs its two outer CV joints replacing as it creaks when turning the wheel, though it does not affect the drive quality. I am having trouble finding the parts as it's a Japanese import. My main concern is will it pass its NCT with the creaking?

Thanks

Sue

Can I drive my Volvo without tax and NCT?

I have a 1992 Volvo that I bought new; it has been in the garage for the last 10 years and I would like to put it back on the road. I had the local mechanic look at it and he said that if he drove it 30 miles down the road to take the surface rust off the discs it would probably pass an NCT.  However, I would like to take it to the garage and have the discs and pads changed along with the brake hoses. The question is, can I drive it to the garage without tax and NCT?

Best wishes, Chris Keohane

What to do about my Mazda RX-8 NCT?

Hi,

I have a Mazda RX-8, which was due a test at the start of April. I am wondering what the rules are as regards emission testing. As you probably know, they have a different type of engine and require two-stroke oil, which would leave emissions very high. Do I need to stop adding two-stroke oil before the test or are they not tested for emissions?

Thanks

Patrick

Will my Kangoo pass its NCT?

Will my 2005 Renault Kangoo 1.5 dCi pass the NCT with the glow plug warning light illuminated? It is not the engine management light as that has a separate light that is not illuminated, only the glow plug light is always illuminated while the car is running.

Thanks

Can I bring my wife's car for an NCT?

Car booked in for first NCT on 26 July in Cahir. Registration book in my late wife's name. Is this ok or do I need to re-register prior to NCT? If so do I need to cancel my NCT date, re-register and re-book?
