future engines

Hi.

As a long-term keeper would you recommend a turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine or would a four-cylinder non-turbo be a safer bet?

We'll be buying a new car next year. There are so many variants out there it's doing my head in.

We're not quite ready for all electric yet.

I read that Volkswagen intends to introduce a Gasoline Particulate Filter to petrol engines. Will this mean that low mileage, short run petrol owners like me could have the same expensive problem that low mileage diesel owners have?

Will there be a 4Matic option available in Ireland for the new Mercedes E-Class saloon?

You mentioned that Mercedes-Benz has a new 2.2-litre diesel engine. Do you have any idea when it might become available in the C-Class Coupé?

I've been told that the new Toyota Land Cruiser will have a 2.8-litre Fiat engine. Is there any truth in this? I know it's changing from its 3.0-litre engine to the 2.8, but I'm just wondering who makes the new engine?
