Planned fuel-duty increase paused for now

The Irish government has confirmed what has long been suspected - that the planned increases in fuel duty, which would reverse the cuts made back April, have been suspended. Those increases were due to come into effect from September to December, reinstating the roughly 30c-per-litre cuts. With continued conflict in the Middle East, though, those rises are on hold for now.
