After a cracking 2018 summer heatwave, will convertibles begin to gain more ground in Ireland? Here are the best five on sale.

1 - Mazda MX-5

2 - Ford Mustang Convertible

3 - Jaguar F-Type Roadster

We had to wait 35 years to get it, but Jaguar finally made a worthy E-Type successor. The F-Type is gorgeous, ballistic, bombastic and fantastic. Too-plain cabin made up for by the terrific engines.

4 - Porsche 718 Boxster

5 - Fiat 124 Spider

Take a Mazda MX-5, give it a gorgeous, retro-sixties body and a feisty turbocharged Italian heart and you get the Fiat 124 Spider. As welcome a throwback as there's ever been, it's fun and fabulous, albeit more expensive than the Mazda.
