Alfa Romeo offering as much as €6k off a Giulia - and there's more.

What's the news?

Alfa Romeo is laying out its stall for 191 with big discounts on two of our favourite cars - the Giulia saloon and the Stelvio SUV.

In fact, both cars get a discount of as much as €6,000, depending on which model you're buying. The minimum saving is €3,000. Now, it's worth noting that the biggest discounts come on old pre-WLTP stock, which Alfa is trying to clear before the models with updated engines arrive. If you're happy with that, it means you can get a basic 150hp 2.2-litre diesel Giulia Super for as little as €33,995, and that's with an eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

It gets better - if you order a run-out stock Giulia, you can get a fully-loaded 180hp diesel Super Lux model for just €39,245. That's exceptional value.

There are also some significant savings to be had on new Giulia models, which comply with the latest emissions test standards, and which get an updated 160hp or 190hp 2.2-litre diesel engine. Those get €3,000 off a basic Super model, with prices starting from €40,995. You can get €4,000 off the invigorating 280hp turbo petrol Veloce model, bringing it to €50,495, or €6,000 off the 2.9-litre V6 turbo 510hp Giulia Quadrifoglio (one of the best high performance saloons around) bringing its price down to €99,135.

Across the hall, the Stelvio SUV gets some similar offers. Run-out stock cars are available from €52,495 for a 210hp 2.2-litre diesel Speciale with all-wheel drive, or €53,495 for the top-spec Milano Edizione version.

New Stelvios also get the updated 190hp 2.2-litre diesel, and those now start from €49,995 - a saving of some €2,800. The mighty 510hp Quadrifoglio version of the Stelvio has just arrived, too, and that gets a €6,000 discount if you order it before the 31st of December, at a price of €112,795.

The compact Giulietta hatchback comes in for some savings too. Prices now start from €24,095 (that's €1,500 off the old price) for the 1.4-litre 120hp turbo petrol model, and there's a new B-Tech model, which comes with extra body kit, 18-inch alloys, leather upholstery, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, auto lights and wipers and red brake calipers for €29,845 - a saving of €1,000.

Alfa will be hosting two test drive events, where potential customers will get the chance to check out new models including that mighty Stelvio Quadrifoglio, with the first one taking place this weekend, Sunday the 18th of November, at Fota Island Resort in Cork. The second will take place on the 1st of December at the Kilashee Hotel in Co. Kildare.
