The German tuner turns its hand to the Aston's engine and styling.

What's the news?

Following on from its Range Rover Velar styling kit, the German company Startech (part of the Brabus group) has revealed a styling and performance upgrade for the Aston Martin DB11.

The SP610 "Powered by Brabus" kit sees Aston's 4.0-litre twin-turbo Mercedes V8 boosted to 610hp (up from 510hp), 800Nm of torque (up from 675Nm) and a top speed of 310km/h (up from 301km/h). This is done with a "plug and play" auxiliary control module, which plugs into the car's ECU, providing higher performance ignition and injection mapping as well as increasing the boost pressure in the turbo.

Like with the Range Rover, Startech has turned its hand to the exterior as well with some carbon-fibre aerodynamic mods. The DB11 gets a new front spoiler as well as new rocker panels and a rear-diffuser, which in addition to giving the car a more aggressive, racing stance, help keep it stuck to the road. The new aero/styling parts can be had in either matte or gloss black.

The rear end gets a Formula 1-style LED reversing light as well as "exhaust embellishers", an aesthetic rather than functional addition, which fit over the standard exhausts and can be had in either black or chrome. One particularly striking feature of the Geneva show car is the copper-coloured paint along the Aston's roofline, which is a nice two-tone contrast to the dark anthracite of the rest of the body. The copper colour is also seen in little accents like the under-bonnet bracing and the brake calipers. The wheels are Startech's own 21-inch five-spoke Monostars, exclusive to the DB11. The hub cover mimics the centre-lock nut used in motor racing, another nod towards sporting prowess. The wheels feature more of that copper-coloured pinstriping on the spokes.

Startech has also done a job on the interior with high-quality quilted leather throughout (seats, headlining and door cards) and touches of carbon-detailing in places like on the flat-bottomed steering wheel. Indeed with the Startech Aston, carbon replaces the wood-inlay of the standard car. The Geneva version features grey leather with carbon detailing though pictures released by Startech show a few options including tan leather seats.
