Lister Motor Company, a British specialist sports car company that has a long association with Jaguar, has revealed the fastest, most powerful and luxurious car it has ever built in 65 years - and it's called the Lister Thunder.
Due to be unveiled at the Historic Motorsport International show in London, during mid-February, the Jaguar F-Type-based Lister is called the Thunder because the last car from the company was called the Storm - and, in racing guise, where it employed Jaguar V12 power, it won the FIA World GT Championship in 2000.
The Thunder's full technical specification will be revealed at the show but, for now, the company is happy to give us some key details. Such as, the Lister uses a tuned version of the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 from the F-Type to deliver a 'devilish' 666bhp; that's 675hp, in proper-speak, fully 100hp more than the Jaguar F-Type SVR can summon up. That's enough to see it, um, thunder from 0-100km/h in a little over three seconds, before running on to a top speed that is 'in excess of' 320km/h; 335km/h, to be exact!
Bespoke coachwork enhancements have been overseen by Lister's CEO and owner, Lawrence Whittaker, and feature plenty of carbon fibre, plus Lister-specific vents and decals. Inside, the cabin is finished in Bridge of Weir Nappa leather, available in 36 colours, while there are Lister logos stitched into the headrests. Move fast if you want one, though, as just 99 examples are being built, with prices starting at £139,950 (around €160,000).
