Based on the same mechanical package as the Nissan Navara and Renault Alaskan, the X-Class arrives in Ireland in a couple of weeks, and will come in three trim levels. Pure is a basic spec, essentially aimed at those who want just a hard-working, use-and-abuse pickup. Progressive is aimed at more upmarket buyers, families looking for something a little different from the SUV norm, while Power is the top-spec version, and is for those who want a classic Mercedes luxury experience, but also fancy being able to haul a tonne of whatever they fancy in the load bed.
The seven dealers appointed are Sligo-based Connolly Motor Group, Cork Truck Services, Gilmores of Kingscourt, Kinahan Commercials of Moate, and three Dublin city outlets - MSL Grange at Pottery Road, Deansgrange, MSL Park Motors on North Circular Road and MUTEC on Long Mile Road.
The X-Class will be available with a wide choice of equipment, says Mercedes, including leather interiors, alloy wheels of up to 19 inches in diameter and more.
