Unlike the F-Pace, the E-Pace will use the steel-based chassis of the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque, making it the first steel Jaguar since the original XF. Four-wheel drive will be available, as will six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic gearboxes, and power will come from the usual 'Ingenium' lineup of four-cylinder turbo petrol and diesel engines. It's also likely that Jaguar will introduce a plug-in hybrid model at some point.
Prices for the UK market will start at £28,000 which would suggest an on-sale price here of around €33,000 to €35,000 when the E-Pace arrives following a full unveiling in July.
Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar, said: "The combination of sports car looks with Jaguar performance will ensure that the E-Pace stands out. Every Jaguar is designed to excite the senses, and we think E-Pace will do just that, albeit with its own individual character."
