Toyota trio to star at Geneva

Toyota trio to star at Geneva
Toyota’s C-HR crossover, Proace Verso MPV and latest Hilux for Geneva Motor Show.

What's the news?

Toyota's got a trio of vital vehicles ready for the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show.

First up is the C-HR Concept, which is a C-segment crossover that mates a five-door coupé body with an elevated SUV-like stance; think of a shrunken BMW X4, then. Not only that, but the C-HR's face previews the future look of all Toyota models, so it's a styling exercise as much as it is a preview of an impending model.

Alongside that will be the Proace Verso large MPV and while we have only one image of this, you'll get the best indication of what it will look like if you search out our news stories on the Citroën SpaceTourer or the Peugeot Traveller, and then try and imagine either of them with a Toyota front grille and light clusters; it's the same principle as these three companies sharing components for the C1, 108 and Aygo city cars, you see. The Proace Verso is therefore a big window-toting van, available in three body lengths and capable of seating up to nine people.

Anything else?

And the final entrant from Toyota? Why, none other than the latest version of one of its stalwarts, the Hilux pick-up. Toyota says this is an entirely new design based on an even stronger ladder-frame chassis, all powered by a fresh, highly efficient 2.4-litre D-4D engine. The Japanese firm says the new Hilux is 'tougher than ever before, and the ultimate embodiment of Toyota's quality and reliability'.
