What do we know about the concept car at this stage?
Very little, other than it will “showcase the future design language of DS” through what is termed an exploratory concept car. DS’s parent company Stellantis is showing off no fewer than nine concepts from all its various marques at the Paris gathering, but the DS concept promises to be one of the more dramatic, given the upmarket positioning of the brand.
OK, what else will DS have at the Paris Motor Show stand?
The marque’s newest two models, the No.8 fastback and three versions of the No.7 SUV, will form the bulk of the car displays, alongside the DS 3 Maison Sarah Lavoine and a version of the No.4 hatchback.
There will also be a craftsmanship demonstration by a DS Master Saddler and a virtual-reality experience said to transport users to the heart of the excitement on a SailGP race day.
Any final words on this mysterious concept?
Aside from the fact the company reckons it will give the attending public a “fever” when they see it, Xavier Chardon, the CEO of DS Automobiles, said: “Paris is a particularly important event for DS Automobiles.
“With DS No.7, we’re launching our new flagship and entering a new phase for the brand. A car designed to travel differently, in unparalleled comfort and serenity, where technology is there above all to simplify life and make each journey more enjoyable.
“But DS must not just follow the established rules. It is up to us to create our own. This is also what we will show at the Paris Motor Show with a concept that explores an even bolder, more personal and decidedly different vision for the brand.”
DS also adds that “many other surprises” will punctuate the week, including musical entertainment.
