Where can I see the Range Rover Electric first?

Design Week Dublin takes place from the 16th of September to the 20th, and the Range Rover Electric will be on display as part of ‘The Range Rover Terrace’, which can be found in The Marker Hotel on the Grand Canal, just by the Bord Gais Energy Theatre.

What is Design Week Dublin?

Design Week Dublin is a series of events, including talks, conversations and round tables with some of the leading names in the design world.

Range Rover is showing off the new Electric model at Design Week because… well, because the Range Rover is an acknowledged design classic. After all, a Series 1 Range Rover has been exhibited at the Louvre as an icon of design.

What will be on display in Dublin?

At first, you might mistake the new Range Rover Electric (the one in Dublin is finished in a gorgeous shade of ‘Belgravia Green’) for a regular model, but that’s kind of the point.

The whole idea is that the Range Rover Electric is a Range Rover first, and EV second, so it, as Land Rover says: “has unmistakeable Range Rover design coupled with more effortless and more responsive performance.”

What kind of performance does the Range Rover Electric have?

The Range Rover Electric has been designed to have performance comparable to a V8 petrol model, and that’s borne out by a choice of 450hp or 550hp power outputs from its twin electric motors, meaning that the Range Rover Electric can accelerate from 0-100km/h in as little as 4.5 seconds. 

Okay, but what about range?

This Range Rover has range, no question. It uses a 118.5kWh battery and so has an official range of up to 600km, while Land Rover says that 535km is a realistic day-to-day expectation.

That battery charges fast, too — at up to 350kW on DC outlets, adding 220km of extra range for every 10 minutes spent on the charger. 

Can the Range Rover Electric go off-road?

Of course it can — it’s still a Range Rover after all. There’s the same fully adjustable air suspension, the same Terrain Response system that allows you to set the car up for mud, snow, rocks, sand and more, the precise torque delivery of electric motors which actually work better for off-roading than a petrol or diesel engine, and a standard 900mm water wading depth.

After Design Week Dublin, the Range Rover Electric will be going on a nationwide tour in Ireland, so you’ll be able to see it at the following locations:
