Which electric SUV to go for with a €60,000 budget?
The question
I'm trying to choose an electric SUV. We have a diesel seven-seater but I'm looking for a practical car that can do everything the seven-seater can but I only need five seats for my commute of 50km there and 50km back.
We have four older kids (16 - 21), three of them six-foot and over but we have the seven-seater to accommodate the whole family.
I play golf so need to fit the golf clubs and I have an elderly father who struggles to get in and out of my car and has a rollator.
The MGS6 EV seems to meet most of my needs and the dual motor gives me the pep for overtaking on my commute on single carriageway main roads.
The boot seems adequate for clubs, trolly and rollator. I'm prepared to spend €60,000 but I'm not sure if the Xpeng G6, Skoda Enyaq or Sealion 7 give me what I need. A comfortable yet sporty ride would be great but not essential.
Range is not really an issue though the Xpeng seems to have great battery efficiency and friendly and seems to be a good option. The Enyaq is European which is nice. The MGS6 EV seems to have good physical buttons.
What would you recommend?

Hi Philip,
We're big fans of the MGS6 EV and you could get the top model of that lineup within your budget for sure.
If you like having physical buttons - and we certainly do - then you should also check out the Kia EV5. It's spacious and of high quality, has plenty of range, a sensible cabin and is well within budget.
Another worth a look that may not be on your radar is the excellent Renault Scenic.
Depending on when you're looking to buy, the new Mazda CX-6e might be a good alternative. It arrives later this year and it's a lovely car that's also efficient.
Finally, there's the Peugeot E-3008 and E-5008. The former may not be ideal for your father's needs, but you could afford a well-specced E-5008. There's a dual-motor model as well.
