Toyota hydrogen V6 to power 880hp MissionH24 racer

Toyota Racing will supply the hydrogen-combustion engine for the MissionH24 H24EVO endurance-racing prototype. The 3.5-litre V6, developed specifically for motorsport, will run on liquid hydrogen and work with the car’s hybrid system to produce over 880hp. MissionH24 says that should bring performance close to European Le Mans Series prototype levels. Engineering work is already under way to integrate the engine, chassis, gearbox, electronics and software ahead of the H24EVO’s first tests.

Propping up the range is the Geely EX2 EV, and the oddly named Starray EM-i will keep those that want a plug-in hybrid happy, but we reckon the Geely EX5 will be its biggest seller. It's a mid-sized electric SUV that promises to be exceptionally well-priced, but that's not all it has going for it. Make sure you read our review to get the full story.

Dave was on Newstalk today, talking about fixed speed cameras in Kilkenny and Carlow

Dave Humphreys was on air with George Lawlor TD this morning on Newstalk’s The Claire Byrne Show to discuss how two static speed cameras have accounted for almost 70 per cent of all fines issued nationwide. The cameras, located on the N25 at Glenmore, Co. Kilkenny, and on the N80 in Co. Carlow, have both been described as having inadequate signage to warn drivers of the change in speed limit ahead. The discussion continued to how average speed cameras can be far more effective in changing driver behaviour. Listen back here.
