Mobile phone distraction targeted in new road safety campaign by SDCC

South Dublin County Council has launched a campaign highlighting the dangers of mobile phone distraction ahead of a National Day of Action for Mobile Phone Distraction on August 19. Backed by An Garda Síochána and the RSA, it warns that using a phone while driving makes a collision four times more likely. Gardaí will also operate checkpoints as part of the initiative.

Maxol invests €2.6m in Dooradoyle service station

Maxol is investing €2.6 million in a major redevelopment of its Dooradoyle service station in Co. Limerick. Due for completion in November, the expanded site will gain a Burger King, stocking of the Dunnes Stores Simply Better range, a larger Maxol Market Deli and 40 per cent more seating, while the overall building grows by 50 per cent.
