MINI launches '1965 Victory Edition'
MINI has rolled out the 1965 Victory Edition to celebrate 60 years since Timo Mäkinen and Paul Easter won the Monte Carlo Rally in a Mini Cooper S. Finished in Chili Red with a white roof and stripes, it also wears the original car’s number 52. Special badging and interior details continue the theme. The treatment is available on the Cooper S, John Cooper Works and electric John Cooper Works Electric. Toyota Corolla celebrates 60th with special edition
The Toyota Corolla is celebrating its 60th anniversary, having recorded more than 57 million sales worldwide since its introduction in 1966. To mark the milestone, Toyota is launching limited-run 60th Anniversary versions of the Corolla hatchback, Touring Sports estate and saloon, featuring unique paint finishes, 17-inch alloy wheels, additional exterior detailing and commemorative badging. Irish-market availability has yet to be confirmed but is expected later in the year. An all-new Corolla will be launched in 2027.
Leapmotor appoints Lynn Motors in Dundalk
Leapmotor Ireland has appointed Lynn Motors on the Newry Road in Dundalk as its latest official franchise dealer. The family-run business, established in 1993, becomes Leapmotor’s tenth Irish retail location, extending the brand’s dealer network into Co. Louth and giving it a presence in eight counties. First deliveries have already arrived at the dealership.
Planned fuel-duty increase paused for now
The Irish government has confirmed what has long been suspected - that the planned increases in fuel duty, which would reverse the cuts made back April, have been suspended. Those increases were due to come into effect from September to December, reinstating the roughly 30c-per-litre cuts. With continued conflict in the Middle East, though, those rises are on hold for now.

All-electric Mercedes GLC SUV launched in Ireland
The Irish media launch of the new Mercedes GLC Electric SUV took place today in Dublin and we were there. It's worth noting that the older generation of GLC is still available with petrol, diesel or plug-in-hybrid power. Anyway, the GLC Electric is priced from €72,085 and we've updated our detailed review to reflect the confirmed pricing.
