What's the news?
Opel Ireland has issued an urgent safety notice to owners of Adam and Corsa models registered since May of this year. During routine inspections it has been found that part of the steering system does not comply with Opel specifications and the company is urging owners not to drive their cars until they have been inspected. It is believed that 43 of the 8,000 affected models are owned by Irish motorists.
From tomorrow (September 27) owners will be able to find out if their vehicle is affected by visiting their local Opel dealership, where the car will be inspected and the part replaced if required. Details of dealerships can be found at http://www.opeldealersireland.ie.

Anything else?
Opel is keen to point out that no accidents or injuries relating to the issue have been reported and that the problem was discovered during routine quality control checks.
