Fitzpatrick's Garage Naas has been named the overall national winner of the 2026 ZEVI EV Dealership of the Year Award. The result was announced by Zero Emissions Vehicles Ireland (ZEVI) and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) at the SEAI Energy Show in the RDS, Dublin.
The annual award recognises dealerships for their work in supporting the uptake of electric vehicles in Ireland and is intended to highlight retailers that combine strong EV knowledge with a customer experience tailored to electric-car buyers, both in the showroom and online.
ZEVI and SEAI said the judging considered a range of factors, including EV visibility, salesperson knowledge, sales approach, EV-specific training, sales performance and the quality of the dealership's online presence.
A total of 24 dealerships were first selected as county winners. From there, four regional winners were chosen at the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) awards in February, with Fitzpatrick's Garage Naas going on to take the national title. This is the third time Fitzpatrick's Garage has won an EV dealership award. Its Kildare site previously took the title in 2022 and again in 2024.
Minister for Transport Darragh O'Brien said the awards recognise dealers helping customers make the move to electric vehicles: "Ireland is seeing record levels of electric vehicle sales in 2026, reflecting the growing confidence of consumers in cleaner, more sustainable transport options. The dealership awards recognise the dedication and expertise of car dealers who are supporting customers to make the transition to electric vehicles and helping to accelerate this shift.
"This is an exciting time for the sector. As EV sales continue to grow, today's award winners are setting the benchmark for excellence and demonstrating the skills and leadership that will shape the future of the electric vehicle industry in Ireland.”
SEAI chief executive William Walsh said EV sales this year are running more than 40 per cent ahead of the same period last year. He said, "2026 is shaping up to be another bumper year for EVs - sales so far this year are at the highest level ever recorded, with sales over 40 per cent higher than they were for the same period last year. That is remarkable and really highlights the momentum we're seeing on the ground. With the volatility we're seeing internationally reflected at the pumps, there's never been a better time to consider switching away from fossil fuels. Dealerships are crucial to helping people make the right choice for them and it's great to see them recognised here today.
