MG Motor Ireland has appointed a new dealer for the Kildare region. Fitzpatrick's MG Motor Centre Kildare will now represent the classic MG badge, bringing the number of MG dealers in Ireland to a nice, round ten.
How important is this for MG?
Very, it would seem. "Expanding into Kildare is a key milestone for MG Motor Ireland,” said Gerard Rice, Managing Director, MG Motor Ireland. "Kildare represents a vital area for our continued growth, connecting Dublin with a thriving commuter and family market that has shown strong demand for hybrid and electric vehicles. We are delighted to partner with Fitzpatrick's, a family-run group with over seven decades of excellence, innovation, and a deep commitment to customer care. Their reputation for integrity and forward-thinking perfectly reflects MG's own values as we continue to make electric driving accessible for everyone.”
How long has Fitzpatrick's been in business?
Since 1951, and according to MG, since then it has "become one of Ireland's most respected motor groups, employing over 150 people across multiple locations. Known for its customer-first approach and progressive investment in facilities, technology, and sustainability, the group continues to set industry standards in service and innovation."
Where is the new dealership located?
Right now, Fitzpatrick's MG Motor Centre will operate from a temporary premises at Junction 13 on the M7 motorway, just next to the Kildare Village outlet. That's only for now, though, as Fitzpatrick's has big plans for that location, and is developing "state-of-the-art showrooms, workshops, and valeting facilities, designed to deliver an exceptional customer experience and reflect the modern, electrified future of motoring.”
Speaking about the new appointment, Andrew Johnson, National Sales Manager, MG Motor Ireland, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Fitzpatrick's to the MG dealer network. Their long-standing reputation for excellence, award-winning customer service, and strong local presence make them an ideal partner for the brand as we continue to expand across Ireland. This appointment reinforces our commitment to ensuring MG customers nationwide have convenient access to sales and aftersales support of the highest standard.”
Commenting on the new partnership, Sean Lyons, CEO at Fitzpatrick's Garage Group, said: "We are thrilled to represent MG in Kildare. As a group celebrating 75 years in business in 2026, joining forces with a brand as rich in heritage as MG could not be more perfect. In fact, we'll have more than 175 years of experience between us, as MG recently celebrated its 100th birthday! Customers have always been at the heart of the Fitzpatrick's business. As the motor industry accelerates towards electrification, Fitzpatrick's prides itself as being progressive, open to change, new technology, and willing to help their customers on this exciting new journey. From Cecil Kimber's original cars which quietly challenged convention in 1924 to the exciting range of electric and hybrid vehicles of today, MG aligns perfectly with our vision for the future of motoring. The addition of the famous Octagon to the Fitzpatrick's family is one we are truly excited about, and we look forward to welcoming customers to MG's new home in Kildare.”
