Gowan Auto, the Irish importer for pretty much all of the Stellantis Group portfolio of car brands, has announced a new managing director for the Peugeot and DS Automobiles brands here.
Formerly Gowan's finance director
Alan Kilroy will take over running the Irish operations for both French brands, moving over to the managing director role from his previous job at Gowan Auto, as the company's finance director.
According to Gowan Auto: “Alan steps into this new role bringing with him a deep well of experience, brand knowledge, and commercial insight.”
Previously worked in Sydney and New York
A native of Tipperary, Alan holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University College Dublin and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Grant Thornton in 2004. His early career included roles with Commonwealth Bank in Sydney and Deloitte in New York, before returning to Ireland to join Gowan Group in May 2005 as Group Accountant.
In October 2013, Alan moved to Gowan Distributors as Financial Controller for Peugeot, later becoming Head of Finance for the Peugeot brand, a role he held until 2020. Since then, he has served as Finance Director for all brands under Gowan Auto, playing a critical role in shaping financial strategy and building strong relationships across the dealer network, Stellantis, and other key stakeholders.
Passionate teams
Speaking on his appointment, Alan Kilroy said: "I am honoured and excited to take on the role of Managing Director for Peugeot and DS in Ireland. Having been part of the Gowan Group for two decades, I've had the privilege to work closely with our passionate teams, trusted dealer partners, and dedicated stakeholders. I look forward to harnessing the strong momentum we've built and driving these iconic brands toward a future defined by innovation, growth, and sustainability.”
A keen golfer, a cyclist, and a sports fan, Alan lives in Co. Wicklow with his wife Amber and their two young children.
