Kearys Motor Group partners with Ohme

The Kearys Motor Group has announced a new tie-up that will see its showrooms recommend Ohme electric car chargers to customers buying a plug-in vehicle. The partnership will give buyers the chance to see an Ohme charging point up close in the showroom before deciding whether to buy one.

Smart charging

Under the terms of the new agreement, Ohme will place a new Home Pro charger in Kearys Motor Group showrooms. Customers will be able to see and touch the product before deciding whether to buy one alongside their new electric or plug-in hybrid car.

The smart charging points can connect with the national grid in real time, allowing them to automatically adjust the way they charge the vehicle. This allows drivers to take advantage of cheaper energy that's available at off-peak times.

The Ohme charging systems also give drivers the option to charge their cars at times when renewable energy generation on the national grid is at its highest, allowing motorists to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions.

Wide audience

Kearys Motor Group is Ireland's largest family-owned dealer group, representing companies including BMW, Hyundai, Renault and Nissan across 12 dealerships. The company employs 450 people throughout Ireland, and it owns the Carstore used car supermarket, which has three locations in Dublin, Cork and Limerick.

"We are delighted to be partnering with Ohme as our preferred EV home charging supplier," said Brendan Keary, the CEO of Kearys Motor Group. "We considered many potential charging partners and it was clear to us that Ohme's smart charging capability, award-winning products and excellent customer service made it the obvious choice for Kearys. With increasing numbers of customers choosing new and pre-owned electric and hybrid vehicles, we're looking forward to recommending Ohme's smart chargers."

However, Kearys Motor Group is not the only partnership Ohme has secured. The charging company with bases in Cork and London is also working with the AA, Donegal County Council and Iarnród Éireann, as well as the Volkswagen Group in the UK.

"Our partnership with Kearys underlines Ohme's position as one of Ireland's fastest-growing charging companies," said David Watson, CEO at Ohme. "Like Ohme, Kearys has a strong reputation for exceptional customer care and service and we're looking forward to working together to give its customers a seamless charging experience with reduced running costs."
