My working week: Dave Humphreys

Monday November 25

Even though we are in the privileged position of getting to drive all the latest cars, every so often there's one that you really don't want to give back. This was certainly the case with the BMW 518d that I was testing last week. Even though the car wears a smaller number than most expect to see on a 5 Series it lacked none of the luxury. To compensate, I find myself collecting the latest Volkswagen Golf GTD in its place.

Tuesday November 26

Nobody likes Tuesdays, but mine was made slightly better with a delivery from one of the PR companies of an assortment of Catch Bars! It's funny what Twitter can directly or indirectly bring you. This is quickly followed by a phone call from the folk at Volvo who want to give us their high performance diesel V40 to test against the GTD I'm in for the week. Oh well, they did insist!

Wednesday November 27

A busy day of writing today as tomorrow is hectic. Find myself also reading up on some of the developments in the world of social media. There's only one thing that I do know about it and that is that you'll never know it all. Great to see some nifty innovations though.

Thursday November 28

Early-ish start this morning as myself and Shane head off to do some photos of the Golf/V40 twin test along with spending some time in each car and bouncing opinions off each other. In typical fashion the weather did its best to hinder us, but I think we pulled it off (I say I think as I've not seen the finished photos yet!). Once back to Dublin I get a bit more work out of the way before a busy night of socialising including a Tommy Hilfiger launch and the Movember Gala Ball, which I'm helping to judge along with my Engine Room Show co-presenter Steven Cooper. Turned out to be a great night especially with news that over €1,000,000 was raised in the month.

Friday November 29

Manage to catch up and clear a huge amount of the stuff from my inbox and just as I do that another flood of emails come in. Hard to believe how quickly the year has passed and already how far into next year we're all making bookings for. Looks like 2014 is going to be even busier for the lot of us here at CompleteCar.ie!
