Zeekr 001
Zeekr's pioneer model is the 001, a large and luxurious five-door with aspirations to dethrone Tesla.
You might not be familiar with the name Zeekr - which is part of the same group as Volvo, Polestar and Lotus - but you almost certainly soon will be, given the impressive all-round polish of its first product, the 001. It's described as a shooting brake but is perhaps better termed a large, premium hatchback, of the kind to take on the likes of the Tesla Model 3 and Polestar 2, among more. The Zeekr 001 is incredibly well-resolved, especially in terms of its interior quality, its one-shot range of around 600km to a charge, the performance of its dual-motor models and its overall refinement. There are question marks over the handling and some foibles with the infotainment interface, and we're still waiting for confirmation of its on-sale date in Ireland, but if the price is right then the Zeekr 001 is going to be a serious and talented contender in the large EV marketplace.
