Smart 1
The first 'new' Smart is the aptly/oddly-named #1.
The chunky-looking Smart #1 is a compact electric crossover with surprisingly good interior space - check out all that rear legroom and headroom compared to some of its rivals. It uses the same batteries and powertrain (rear-drive single motor, four-wheel drive dual-motor) as the Smart #3 and so performance is broadly comparable, but the #3's better aerodynamics give it the edge on range, and even on performance. The cabin is bright and cheery, but the touchscreen will drive you barmy. Not a great driver's car, but surprisingly quick, even with that basic 272hp motor.
