Mercedes-Benz G-Class
The G-Wagen goes electric. And it's very, very silly indeed.
The big, blocky, battery Benz is a car of contrasts. It’s based on a 40-year-old design but features a next-generation quad-motor setup, with an individual electric motor powering each wheel. It’s a zero-emissions EV which weighs three tonnes and is, by electric car standards, wildly inefficient. It doesn’t even go all that far on one charge. And yet, it’s charming, fun to drive, is colossally talented off-road, and can even ‘tank-turn’ on the spot if you really want to impress your friends. It’s crazy expensive, but then what did you expect?
