Hyundai Kona Electric
The latest Hyundai Kona Electric is a compelling package, with sharp looks, a superb interior and first-rate refinement.
Hyundai's second attempt at a Kona Electric ups the driving range and motor power only modestly, but rather more enjoyably the company has significantly improved both the refinement and the practicality of its all-electric crossover. This Kona Electric is a real pleasure to travel around in, thanks to a smooth ride and near-total negation of the usual contributors to noise in the cabin (tyres, wind, suspension), while the striking exterior looks are the most interesting in its class. There's also a high-quality and high-tech feel to a passenger compartment which has grown notably in size, so that rear-seat space is far more generous this time around - and a 466-litre boot is large for this type of crossover electric vehicle (EV). It perhaps doesn't have the sharpest handling in the world, while there are a few places in the cabin where material finishing is obviously built down to a cost, but in many regards the Hyundai Kona Electric is an incredibly competent product, and one of the best EVs of its type.
