BYD Atto 3

The BYD Atto 3 morphed into the more-impressive Evo version in 2026.

If ever there was a ‘car of two halves', in terms of pre- and post-facelift, the BYD Atto 3 would be it. The first Irish arrival from Build Your Dreams, from 2022-2025 the Atto 3 was a front-wheel-drive electric SUV with 204hp, 420km of range and a 60.5kWh battery. When it became the Atto 3 Evo in 2026, though, it gained significant updates: a rear-drive platform, much more powerful motor options, upgraded suspension and even supercar-rivalling acceleration from the dual-motor AWD variant. The BYD, though, throughout its life, has been good value and well equipped, but it is a little bland to look at. It has a mad interior as recompense, though.
