Win a free Ohme EV charger and home installation

This competition is open until 12 November 2026, 17:00 (Dublin time).

Ohme EV charger

Electric cars are becoming an increasingly common sight on Irish roads, and 2026 has seen that momentum accelerate significantly. Thankfully, Budget 2027 hasn't done anything to slow that. By the end of September, more than 35,000 new battery-electric cars had been registered in Ireland, up 57 per cent on the same period in 2025. EVs were also the single biggest powertrain type in the new-car market, accounting for more than 27 per cent of registrations.

For many buyers, though, making the switch to an EV is about more than choosing the car itself. Being able to charge conveniently at home is one of the biggest advantages of electric-car ownership, particularly for drivers who can plug in overnight and start the day with a charged battery.

Complete Car is therefore delighted to offer readers the chance to win an Ohme ePod home EV charger – one of the most popular EV chargers on the market – together with a standard installation.

Whether you already own an electric car (or indeed a plug-in hybrid), have one on order or are simply planning to make the switch in the near future, this prize could take one of the biggest practical considerations out of home charging. And save you some money in the process.

The prize

The prize is an Ohme ePod home EV charger together with a standard installation.

The compact, untethered ePod can charge at up to 7.4kW and is compatible with both Type 1 and Type 2 cables. Using the Ohme app, drivers can start, stop and schedule charging, align the charger operation with their electricity tariff and automatically target cheaper off-peak periods where available. The app also lets users monitor energy use and charging costs.

For homes with solar panels, the ePod is also compatible with Ohme’s Solar Boost function, allowing surplus solar energy to be used for charging. Other features include dynamic smart charging, home power balancing and over-the-air updates. The unit is SEAI registered and comes with a three-year warranty.

With its small 230mm x 140mm footprint and simple app-based control, the ePod is designed to make home charging straightforward while helping EV drivers make better use of lower-cost electricity and, where available, renewable energy.
