Kia extends its warranty to cover pandemic shut-down

Extra months added to Kia’s seven-year warranty.

Kia is extending its famous seven-year warranty in an effort to help customers through the pandemic shut-down.

Warranty extensions for Kia models registered in early 2013

The warranty extension is valid in Ireland and 141 other countries around the world. All Kias with seven-year warranties that started between the 1st of February and the 30th of April 2013 will have their warranties extended until the 30th of June 2020.

1,400 Irish cars will get extra warranty cover

Around 500,000 cars worldwide will be covered by the extended warranty, and around 1,400 of those are in Ireland. Kia hopes that the extension will help customers who may be unable to get out to a dealership right now, and will also reassure those who can't avail of free servicing programmes.

'One less thing to worry about'

Sangdae Kim, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Customer Experience Division at Kia Motors Corporation, commented: "By extending Kia's comprehensive warranty cover to customers who may be affected by the pandemic, Kia Motors hopes they have one less thing to worry about during this time. Our goal is to help to alleviate any concerns our customers have about vehicle maintenance during periods of social distancing."
