New GT3 RS 4.0 on video

Porsche has released a tantalising video of its new limited edition GT3 RS in action.

It's your classic publicity shoot, yes, but who cares what the motivations are when a YouTube video is as splendid as Porsche's latest?

Yes, fresh from announcing the car's existence, Porsche has released the first footage of the limited edition 911 GT3 RS 4.0.

In it we get to hear Porsche's head of GT cars, Andreas Preuninger (which we like to think is pronounced "pro ninja") talk about exactly why the car is so awesome.

But fear not, for this is not your average discussion with a German engineer - and we've had plenty of those in our time - but rather a pretty exciting rundown on a car Pro Ninja describes as "the sum of our ideas born on the track."

He also says it's "as close to a race car as a street legal car can possibly get," and given the sound of the thing alone, we can believe that.

Lest you've forgotten, the GT3 RS 4.0 has 500hp and will crack 100km/h in 3.9 seconds. Only 600 will be made.

Now, sit back and enjoy the vid.
