Toyota offers hybrid incentives for 201-plate buyers

2.9 per cent finance and trade-in boosters available on Toyota models.

Toyota will offer those looking to switch to hybrid power in January a few sweeteners to help the deal along.

Toyota sales up this year on the back of hybrid demand

Hybrids have exploded in popularity in the past 12 months. According to Toyota Ireland, its market share this year has grown to 10.4 per cent of all car sales, and almost all of its sales are of hybrid cars, with the current Corolla taking the number one sales slot so far this year.

To try and keep that rolling into the new year, Toyota is going to offer potential hybrid buyers a few incentives. The 'Hybrid Advantage Event' will take place at Toyota dealers around the country on the weekend of 6-9th November.

Toyota will, obviously, be showing off its entire hybrid lineup (Yaris, Corolla, RAV4, Prius, Camry) and dangling a few offers in front of buyers' eyes. Those offers include three years' inclusive servicing across all models, and some special finance interest rates for hybrid cars.

3.9 per cent finance available

Those rates start at 3.9 per cent APR for the Corolla hatch, saloon, and estate (or you can choose to have €1,000 added to your trade-in). The C-HR crossover, updated for 2020, also gets a 3.9 per cent APR rate, or the offer of a €3,000 trade-in bonus. The Camry also gets the 3.9 per cent rate, as does the Prius, which also gets the option of a €3,000 trade-in boost.

Both the Yaris and the RAV4 benefit from a 4.75 per cent APR finance rate.

Don't want to go hybrid? That's OK, Toyota will also offer the 3.9 per cent finance package on the petrol-engined Aygo city car, and on petrol-engined versions of the Yaris (which will also have the choice of going for a €2,500 trade-in boost).

Toyota's commercial models, the Proace van, the HiLux pickup, and the Land Cruiser 4x4, also benefit from the 3.9 per cent package, and the Hilux and Land Cruiser can also be had with the option of a €2,500 trade-in boost.

Five-year warranty for hybrid bits

All of Toyota's hybrids come with a five-year warranty for the hybrid system components, on top of the standard three-year vehicle warranty.

Commenting on the Hybrid Advantage event, Steve Tormey, CEO of Toyota Ireland said: "As part of our brand promise 'Built for a Better World', Toyota Ireland continues to look ahead to the future, pioneering in innovative self-charging hybrid technology. We firmly believe hybrid presents the best immediate step for Irish drivers looking to move away from pure fossil fuel powered cars towards electrified driving.

"Just this month, we announced a significant move towards a cleaner and more sustainable motoring future by ending the sale of our petrol Corolla and C-HR models in favour of hybrid, which means 92% of our passenger car sales next year will be full hybrid. This move follows our 2018 declaration that we were ceasing production of diesel passenger cars, and we haven't looked back since."
