One-off MINI for charity

The MINI Red Mudder looks ready for off-roading, but it's a one-off creation.

MINI has revealed its annual one-off concept to help raise funds for charity and for 2011 it's the Red Mudder.

Designed by Canadian twin brothers Dean and Dan Caten from the design firm DSQUARED2, the Red Mudder will be auctioned off later in May at the Life Ball to raise money for Europe's largest AIDS charity event.

The brothers have gone for an off-road look for their MINI, which comes with headlight guards, roof rack, off-road tyres and raised suspension. Steel mesh over the rear windows hints at the all-terrain feel of this, while plenty of extra lights lend an SUV appeal. There's also a Canadian maple leaf on the door to remind everyone of who designed the car.

MINI will reveal the real-life version of the Red Mudder on 21 May before it's auctioned off.
