Big name stars for Electronomous conference in Kerry

Michael Fassbender and Quentin Wilson headline electric and autonomous think-in.

What's the news?

Electronomous, the car-tech summit hosted by Cartell.ie, will be returning to Killarney for its annual two-day conference in May. This year, a bit of Hollywood glamour will be joining the autonomous and electric car experts as star of X-Men and Assassins Creed, Michael Fassbender will be having a 'fireside chat' on stage with former Top Gear host Quentin Wilson.

Electronomous has this year combined with Mobility X to bring what it calls "disruptors and world class speakers from the tech world together with the auto industry, research community and stakeholders in connected cars, autonomous vehicles, alternative powertrains and mobility and all in the beautiful setting of Killarney, Ireland."

The idea is to take a deep dive, through a series of lectures, speeches, seminars, and presentations on how the new world of technology will affect how we use our cars, how we buy them, how they are serviced and maintained, and even how we insure them into the future.

Aside from the obvious draw of Fassbender (himself a well-known petrolhead), other key speakers at Electronomous will include Danny Shapiro, Senior Director of Automotive at NVIDIA; Xavier Collins, Managing Director UK, Turo; Caroline Hazlehurst, Director of EMEA Operations, Bird; Luc Vincent, VP Engineering, Lyft ; Maik Stephan, Executive Director, E-Mobility, Volkswagen Group AG; Stefan Deix, Director of EUCAR, the European Council for Automotive R&D; and Robert Hambrick, CEO, AutonomouStuff. Many more will be announced in the coming weeks before the conference kicks off on May 2nd.

Keith Whelan, Event Manager for Electronomous said: "It's completely unique to have such a world class line up of speakers and delegates from the Automotive and tech worlds coming together outside of one of Europe's major automotive capitals. With our new partnership with Mobility X, this year will see a large contingent of exciting companies attend from Silicon Valley, so it's a real opportunity for Irish and European companies to connect with global players in the beautiful setting of Killarney, Ireland."

The Mobility X Stage will run parallel to the Main Stage at Electronomous. The Mobility X stage will host some of the world's leading figures in self driving cars and mobility. It is a gathering of global autonomous vehicle leaders featuring executive level automotive professionals from across a range of industries. The year the MobilityX weekend which follows on from Electronomous will be an action-packed VIP weekend for speakers and invited guests from the world's automotive industry. The VIP weekend will transport you to the most scenic spots on the West Coast of Ireland and will include activities such as kitesurfing, mountain biking and stand up paddle-boarding.
