Opel working on DSG-style double-clutch transmission

German firm to offer double-clutch gearboxes on future models.

Opel is working on a DSG-style double-clutch transmission, but don't expect to see it in the very near future.

A spokesperson for Opel confirmed to CompleteCar.ie at the launch of the Insignia 4x4 that the company is working on such a transmission, but wants to make sure it is smooth enough, citing the VW DSG as "too jerky" in town at low speeds.

The spokesperson went on to say that we shouldn't expect to see the new transmission in the very near future. "You won't see it on Insignia just yet, but perhaps in a future model."
