New Jeep Compass set to take on Qashqai

New SUV will start at around €23,000

Jeep will go on sale this summer under the stewardship of the Fiat Group brand in Ireland and the Compass will be the SUV that will lead the charge as the 'affordable' family SUV.

Set to take on the success of the top-selling Nissan Qashqai and good enough to rival the likes of the Volkswagen Tiguan and Ford Kuga, the Compass will come with a choice of three engines, one 2.0-litre petrol and two 2.2-litre diesels, with 136- and 163hp.

The Patriot will be generously equipped as standard, with all models gaining leather upholstery, climate control and keyless entry as part of an extensive standard kit list.

Pricing will be from 'low-to-mid €20,000s' according to their Irish spokesperson and this will make it very competitive.

We will bring you a review of the new Patriot over the weekend.
