New Subaru crossover

Auto Shanghai will host the debut of Subaru's new XV crossover.

Subaru has chosen the Shanghai Motor Show - that runs from 20-28 April - for the world premiere of its XV crossover concept.

The XV is said to better the abilities of other crossovers, with Subaru claiming it "offers looks, benefits and packaging that stretch way beyond those from the populated crowd of existing crossover models."

Full-time all-wheel drive will be a feature of the XV and Subaru says it wants to inspire "Confidence in Motion" with the new model.

Although Subaru is keeping quiet about further details, it's thought the XV will join the existing range as an all-new model. Subaru currently produces an Impreza XV for some markets with a raised ride height, but the XV concept is thought to be a standalone model.

The XV concept will move on to the New York Auto Show after Shanghai, where it will be displayed alongside Subaru's newly restyled Impreza hatch and saloon models.
