McLaren is remaining tight-lipped on this secretive new car, only willing to comment that "it has been designed with frequent reassembly by future owners in mind." And that it's made of plastic, not carbon-fibre.
Mind you, it's not the first time that McLaren has abandoned its usual carbon-fibre composite construction for plastic, interlocking blocks. Last year, a 720S supercar was recreated, in life-size, using 280,000 Lego bricks for the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Hilariously, this full-size Lego version actually turned out to be heavier than a normal production 720S, despite lacking an actual, you know, engine.
A smaller, easier-to-build, and rather more affordable McLaren 720S is still available, in Lego form, from major retailers as part of Lego's Speed Champions range.
